  Key Club members participated in the annual Santa in the Park and rang the bells for the Salvation Army.         
Student Council Pirate Cards
The Student Council is selling Pirate Cards for $10. See any Student Council member if you are interested in purchasing a card. 
Student Council Coat Drive
The Wheelersburg High School Student Council will be hosting a winter coat drive to help people in Scioto County. Donation boxes can be found at the front entrance to the middle school and the front entrance to the high school. Donations will be accepted from December 7 through December 20. Thank you!!

Boys' Basketball
The boys' basketball game scheduled for December 8th has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 23rd. JV will play at 6 p.m. The game will be held at Minford.

Veterans' Day Door Decorating Contest
NHS sponsored a door decorating contest in honor of Veterans' Day. Congratulations to Mrs. Oppy's class for winning. See pictures of all the doors on the right side of the High School web page.  
Peer Tutoring
Peer Tutoring will begin the November 7th and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday in Mrs. Oppy's room immediately after school. If any is interested in becoming a tutor, contact Mrs. Oppy. 
Shawnee New Scholarships
There are full-tuition scholarships for Women and African American students pursuing game design at Shawnee State University. Shawnee State has been awarded $240,000 for game arts and game programing. Click here for more information on the scholarships at Shawnee State. 
Shawnee News
Shawnee will have a "Tuition Guarantee" program that will help students afford tuition, beginning in the fall of 2018. High school seniors are encouraged to complete and submit FAFSA. Pre-med day at Shawnee is December 15, 2017. Click here for details. 
Bible Club
Weekly Bible Club meetings take place on Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. in the Health Room. Join us for a 10 minute Bible study.

Tennis News
Congratulations to Maddie Gill and Kaitlyn Sommer for advancing to state in doubles after the district competition yesterday at Ohio University. They are the first Wheelersburg girls doubles team to advance to state. Lea Wright also competed well as a district qualifier in singles.
 
Lady Pirates Tennis
Congratulations to the Lady Pirates Tennis Team and Coach Jodi Wright! Lea Wright won the singles division and SOC Player of the Year. Maddie Gill and Kaitlyn Sommer won the doubles division, the first time that Burg girls tennis won both titles in the same year. All three girls received First Team all-SOC. The Lady Pirates were the SOC Champions. Jodi Wright was named SOC Coach of the Year.
 
Student Council
Congratulations to the students who were elected to serve as 2017-18 Student Council members. To see elected Council members, Click Here. 
Golf
The golf team finished 2nd in SOC. Trevin Mault is all SOC and he finshed 4th overall. Jaydren Guthrie placed 7th, Carson McCorkle was 10th, and Tanner Stevenson 12th.  
Lighthouse Youth Service
Lighthouse Youth Service is a non-profit multiservice agency providing social services to students and families. LYS will be providing school based services at Wheelersburg Schools. This means an experienced LYS staff member will be present in the schools to assist and counsel students. If you would like more information about the service, see Mrs. Davis.
