Tournament News

The volleyball team will host the winner of Coal Grove/Oak Hill in the sectional finals on Saturday, October 21st at 4 PM. In district competition, the girls’ soccer team will play Peebles at Waverly on Tuesday, October 24th.    

Key Club Blood Drive
The annual Key Club Blood Drive was held on October 18, 2017. The goal for our drive was 43 productive units, and we achieved 109.3% of the goal! The productive units collected from our drive will help save up to 141 lives!!! WAY TO GO!!! The next blood drive will be on February 28, 2018. 
JV Football Update
The JV Football game on Monday, October 23rd vs Valley has been cancelled.

Tennis News
Congratulations to Maddie Gill and Kaitlyn Sommer for advancing to state in doubles after the district competition yesterday at Ohio University. They are the first Wheelersburg girls doubles team to advance to state. Lea Wright also competed well as a district qualifier in singles.
 
Volleyball News From Coach Perry
The lady Pirates defeated Valley (25-20, 25-5, 25-13). We started off a little flat after the battle with Notre Dame, which I was afraid of. However, we were fortunate enough to battle through the 1st set. At the start of set two, the team was fired up and was ready to play.  
Science Alliance Trip
The juniors recently attended the Department of Energy's Science Alliance activities. Click for news about the event.

Cross Country Team
Congratulations to the cross country team. Saturday morning they ran at Piketon, and later that evening they ran at Green. At Piketon the following runners set new personal records:  Gabby Deacon, Reilly O'Leary, Selena Potter, Alex Morris, Andrew Clark, Anthony Drake,  and Boston Thompson. At Green, Nate King and Andrew Clark each took home a medal. Rohit Kataria and Tyson Kazee were awarded ribbons for their individual placements. Tyson Kazee also set a new personal record.  
Key Club News
The Key Club cleaned the Ed Miller Stadium on Saturday September 30th.
 
Lady Pirates Tennis
Congratulations to the Lady Pirates Tennis Team and Coach Jodi Wright! Lea Wright won the singles division and SOC Player of the Year. Maddie Gill and Kaitlyn Sommer won the doubles division, the first time that Burg girls tennis won both titles in the same year. All three girls received First Team all-SOC. The Lady Pirates were the SOC Champions. Jodi Wright was named SOC Coach of the Year.
 
Student Council
Congratulations to the students who were elected to serve as 2017-18 Student Council members. To see elected Council members, Click Here. 
Golf
The golf team finished 2nd in SOC. Trevin Mault is all SOC and he finshed 4th overall. Jaydren Guthrie placed 7th, Carson McCorkle was 10th, and Tanner Stevenson 12th.  
Pirates At Law - High School Mock Trial
Anyone interested in Mock Trial is still welcome to join regardless of whether they attended the organizational meeting. This year's case is here. Stop by Mr. Wills' room (2233 in 6-8 hall) to pick up a copy if you are interested in joining the team.   
Bible Club
The weekly Bible Club meetings will begin Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the Health Room. Join us for a 10 minute bible study. 
Lighthouse Youth Service
Lighthouse Youth Service is a non-profit multiservice agency providing social services to students and families. LYS will be providing school based services at Wheelersburg Schools. This means an experienced LYS staff member will be present in the schools to assist and counsel students. If you would like more information about the service, see Mrs. Davis.
